WHAT INITIALLY DREW YOU TO MUTTONHEAD, AND WHY DID YOU PURSUE BECOMING A STOCKIST?

One of our employees brought the brand to our attention. We liked that it was made and designed in Canada, and had some unique details - like the diamond quilting and waterproof hoodies.

STAFF AT YOUR SHOP: FAMILY, FRIENDS, ONE MAN SHOW? HOW DOES YOUR TEAM WORK TOGETHER TO CREATE A WELCOMING AND INTERACTIVE STOREFRONT FOR YOUR CUSTOMER BASE?

Our store made up of approximately 10 staff members, but it is like one big family. Our focus is on delivering exceptional customer service while creating a stress-free shopping experience for everyone that walks through our doors. We do this by providing a wide selection of affordable items for both men and women and offering our support/expertise when solicited.

WHO IS YOUR CUSTOMER, AND HOW DO YOU LIKE TO CONNECT WITH THEM / KEEP THEM IN THE LOOP REGARDING NEW ARRIVALS?

Our customers are diverse. We are lucky to be centrally located in Toronto across from the Eaton Centre as well as Ryerson University. As a result, we see several students, tourists, and regulars who work in the area shopping in our store. Our new arrivals are always featured at the front, so they are the first items a customer sees when they enter the store.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE ATMOSPHERE OF YOUR STORE? IS IT A COZY SPACE, OR IS IT A MINIMALIST'S DREAM? DESCRIBE THE NEIGHBOURHOOD IN WHICH YOUR SHOP IS LOCATED. DOES IT HAVE A FAMILY FEEL, OR IS IT YOUNG AND TRENDY?

The atmosphere in the store is like a mix between boutique and warehouse vibes. The store is open concept so customers have lots of space to roam and freely check out our selections. We also have a mezzanine on the second floor featuring all of our sale items which really showcases our floor to ceiling windows and pillars. Being located at Yonge and Shuter, we are surrounded by trendy music venues, restaurants, and other fashion retailers.

DO YOU PRIMARILY CARRY LOCAL PRODUCTS? IF SO, WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO YOU?

A

We carry a wide variety of brands from the US, Europe, and Canada. We love the idea of supporting local businesses and hope to continue towards doing so in the future. Our favourite piece from the Muttonhead SS17 collection has to be the Waterproof Camping Hoodie in Black. The fact that it is stylish but also functional makes it wearable for year-round weather and a great addition to both of our male and females customers. Our bestselling Muttonhead piece has to be the Classic Quilted Crew Crewneck in Grey.

IF YOU HAD TO PICK A MUTTONHEAD OUTFIT FOR A CAMPING TRIP WHICH PIECES WOULD BE IN YOUR PACK?

A

It would have to be the Quilted Sweatpants in Charcoal with the Waterproof Camping hoodie. Both great to have in the event of rain or a chilly evening by the fire.
